Privacy
The short version: these sites set no cookies, run no analytics and ask you for nothing. Our programs keep your files on your machine and tell us nothing. What follows is the longer version, which is the honest one.
These websites
ragtux.com and its subdomains — the product sites such as lapstack.ragtux.com and the browser apps such as lapstack.app.ragtux.com — are static pages served from our own server. They set no cookies. They run no analytics, no tag manager, no pixel and no third-party script of any kind. The fonts are served from here, not from a font service. A product site's search runs in your browser against an index it downloads from the same site, so a query never leaves your machine; and a product site remembers your light-or-dark choice in your browser's own storage, where nobody but you can read it.
No page on these sites loads anything from another company. If you find one that does, that is a bug: write to privacy@ragtux.com.
Our server
A web server keeps an ordinary access log: the requesting address, the page or file asked for, the browser's name and version as it reports it, the referring page if the browser sends one, and the time. Ours does too, for operating and securing the server — noticing an outage, a misbehaving crawler, an attack. The log is not joined to anything, not used for anything else, not shared with anyone, and rotated away after a few weeks.
The server is a virtual machine rented from a hosting provider and administered by RAGTUX. The provider runs the hardware and the network and has the access a landlord has; it does not process our visitors' data on our behalf. There is no content-delivery network and no third-party proxy in front of our sites. The domain's name servers are run by a DNS provider, which answers the question "where is ragtux.com?" and sees nothing else.
The programs
Our programs run on your machine and make no network requests except, in the case of a browser app, to load their own files from our server — which appears in the access log like any other page view. They have no accounts, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no updater that phones home. Each product's own legal page says exactly what it keeps in your browser's storage and why; for lapstack, that is here.
If you write to us, we keep the conversation for as long as it is useful to answer you and to remember what was said, and we do not add you to a list. Our mail is handled by an email provider under its own terms, as nearly everyone's is. We will not share your address with anyone, and we send no newsletter.
Contributions
Nothing is for sale; our programs are free software. If you contribute through the Support lapstack link, the payment page is run by Stripe under its privacy policy, and nothing you enter there reaches the app or these sites. What reaches RAGTUX is what Stripe reports of a payment — a name, an email address, an amount — kept as long as the books and tax law require and used for nothing but thanks and the books. We will not email you about it unless you write first.
Children
These sites and programs are not directed at children, and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone, of any age. Nothing here needs a date of birth and nothing asks for one.
Your rights
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, write to privacy@ragtux.com. There is very little to hold, and we will tell you what it is. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or anywhere else with a data-protection authority, you also have the right to complain to it; we would rather hear from you first.
Changes to this page
This page changes when our practice does, and the date of the last change is here: 9 October 2026 — purchases, which never happened, became contributions. First version 30 September 2026.
