RAGTUX LLC is a limited liability company organized in Minnesota, USA. It makes and publishes software, and it runs this website and the sites of its products. This page covers the company and its websites; each product has terms of its own, which are linked below.
Using these sites
Everything RAGTUX publishes on ragtux.com and its subdomains — the text, the images, the downloads, the sites' own code — belongs to RAGTUX LLC unless it says otherwise. You may read it and link to it freely, and quote from it with the source named: in a review, a forum post, a tutorial, a lecture. Republishing a page wholesale, or presenting it as your own, is not allowed.
The sites are provided as they are. We try to keep them correct and available, and promise neither: a page may be out of date, a server may be down, a link may have moved. Links to other people's sites are offered as references; what is there is theirs, and so are their terms.
Nothing on these sites is a contract on its own. Using a program is governed by the license that comes with it.
Products and their terms
A program's binding terms are the LICENSE that ships with it. Each product
also has a legal page of its own that explains that text in plain words and
describes what the program does and does not collect. Where the plain words
and the LICENSE differ, the LICENSE wins.

lapstack is free software under the MIT license, in every form — the browser app, the desktop application, the command-line tool, the plugin and the source. Nothing is for sale.
Trademarks and names
"RAGTUX" and "lapstack" are names of RAGTUX LLC. Use them to refer to us and to our software — a review, a comparison, a tutorial — but not to name another product, and not in a way that implies we made, endorsed or sponsored something we did not. Other companies' names and product names that appear on these sites belong to their owners, who have nothing to do with RAGTUX.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, RAGTUX LLC is not liable for loss that arises from using these sites or from relying on what they say. Liability for a program is set by that program's license: lapstack's MIT license provides the software as it is, without warranty, as its legal page explains in plain words. Some jurisdictions do not allow all of this; where they do not, only what they allow applies.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Minnesota, and disputes belong to the courts there. If one clause turns out to be unenforceable the rest stand.
Security
A security problem in a program of ours or on one of these sites goes to
security@ragtux.com, and
/.well-known/security.txt says the same on
every host. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it; we will reply,
fix it, and credit you if you want to be credited. Please give us a reasonable
time to fix a problem before publishing it, and do not test against other
people's data or availability — the programs run on your own machine, which
is the place to look.
